Facebook Babylon

These endless fern kept telling me "Make more of us!" I did, dozens of them.but kept asking "Who are you?" I painted some,  evoking the Gates of Ishtar.  I knew where the work was headed. 2016, the USA elected an ignorant man with the means to do great harm, a story as old as Babylon, but with the help of modern social media: Facebook Babylon. Carved wood relief 29 x 96 x 5 inches

    Border Crossing

We left the trees for the grasslands. And walked.

We walked till we came to great water. Either we walked around, swam, or figured a way to cross it. Kept walking all the way to the great ice and back.

We are human, we cross borders in order to live.

A quick tour of our origin story.

    Lots of preparatory studies.

      Pavane

Nameless forgotten servants. This is almost my favorite part of the entire sculpture, so quiet amongst the white camellias.

The Green Man. A design for a bronze fountain.

Drawing is thinking and dreaming at the same time.

            wood carving by Patrick Gracewood

Okame welcomes you to the Afterlife

This is another carving that is taking it's time. The face began as something entirely different. She kept changing until she told me the title, then we knew where this was going.

Oh no. Oh yes....another trip to the underworld.
